Our Mission

Helping Families In Medical Crisis

Our mission is to provide a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to families with a child in medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies, by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life’s day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.

Emalene’s Story

Emerald’s daughter, Emalene, was diagnosed with bladder cancer that metastasized to her lungs. The treatment plan includes chemotherapy weekly requiring Emerald to quit a new job so she could be with her daughter. She shares the difficulties faced with treatment, her other daughter’s struggles, and the importance of the support There With Care has provided to her family.

The vital programs we provide families include:

Transportation Assistance

Ensures a family can safely and reliably take their child to and from treatments, school, and activities, visit their child at the hospital if inpatient, and maintain their vehicle for travel.

Food
Security

Ensures a family has access to nutritious and easily prepared meals with grocery deliveries, family-size snack bags, restaurant gift cards, and Uber Eats gift cards.

Patient and Family Essentials

Ensures the basic needs of all family members are met by providing baby clothing, strollers and cribs, activity bags, books, toys and games, and toiletry items.

Home
Stability

Ensures a family’s household is clean and safe by providing cleaning products and other household supplies. Helps alleviate stresses related to home finances.

There With Care was founded in 2005 and has offices in Denver and Boulder serving families referred by Children’s Hospital Colorado, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, UC Health, St. Joe’s Hospital, Rose Medical Center, Denver Health, Sky Ridge Medical Center and Denver Hospice. The Bay Area chapter was founded in 2011 and serves families referred by UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.

There With Care of the Bay Area is located in Redwood City and San Francisco and serves families at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco.
