Cardiovascular
Over the past 20 years, There With Care has supported nearly 1,000 families navigating a cardiovascular diagnosis—providing stability, nourishment, and compassion through every stage of treatment and recovery. Families of children with cardiovascular conditions often face complex medical journeys that include surgeries, lengthy hospital stays, and ongoing specialized care. Roughly one in every 110 babies is born with a congenital heart defect, many requiring intensive treatment and long-term follow-up care. These challenges can mean time away from home, work, and other family members—creating emotional and financial strain that can last for months or longer.
Families we support facing a cardiovascular diagnosis:

Bennett was born with five major heart defects and spent nearly seven months in the hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries. His parents stayed by his side throughout, managing the emotional and financial strain of long-term hospitalization far from home. There With Care supported his family with Easy Meal Care Bags, cafeteria vouchers, gas cards, and toiletries—essentials that eased daily burdens and allowed his parents to remain fully focused on Bennett’s care. After a successful surgery at six months old, Bennett was stable enough to return home. While he still has a journey ahead, his strength and the unwavering support of his family continue to help him meet each new milestone. This is a family we serve.
Born with a rare congenital heart defect, Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV), Mercy Grace faced incredible challenges from day one. After a crucial surgery at five months old, her parents remained by her side, navigating the emotional and financial strain of long-term hospitalization far from home. There With Care supported Mercy and her family with essentials that eased the weight of each day—including toiletries, snacks, groceries, gas cards, and Starbucks gift cards for her mom to enjoy. These thoughtful supports helped her parents stay close and focused on Mercy’s healing. On Christmas Eve, Mercy was finally stable enough to go home at seven months old. Though she still requires special care, she continues to shine with her bright, unstoppable smile—a reminder of her strength and the love surrounding her. This is a family we serve.

Phoenix was born with a ventricular septal defect (VSD), a significant hole in the wall between the lower chambers of his heart. From the start, his parents spent every day at the hospital, doing their best to balance Phoenix’s care while worrying about their two older children at home. There With Care supported the family with essentials that eased the strain of each day—gas assistance for hospital travel, groceries, and household necessities to help care for their children back home. These thoughtful supports allowed Phoenix’s parents to stay close and focused on his healing during an uncertain and overwhelming time. Phoenix continues to grow stronger each day, surrounded by the steady love of his family. This is a family we serve.
For families navigating the realities of cardiovascular care, each stage brings its own challenges—procedures, hospital stays, and long recoveries at home.
