There With Care is seeking a Director of Development who will oversee There With Care’s fundraising and development initiatives. This role is crucial in securing the financial sustainability of our organization and advancing There With Care’s mission. This person will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, special events, corporations and foundation giving. Founded in Colorado in 2005, There With Care’s mission is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services for families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by hospital social workers and build support around them through a community of individuals, volunteers, services, and businesses, who ease their burden of life’s day-to-day obligations with compassion and care. Our current service locations are Colorado and the Bay Area of California.The Important Work You'll Do
- Create, and execute annual stewardship and development plans to prospect, cultivate and grow strong relationships with financial supporters, in-kind donors, volunteers, corporate partners, event sponsors, and community leaders to achieve annual goals and long-term financial sustainability.
- Establish corporate partnerships to support There With Care through cash donations, endowments, and in-kind programs goods and services.
- Deliver a community engagement plan to increase donor base, awareness, and in-kind donations.
- Work with grant writer to identify grants, make introductions, and deliver timely submission of grants.
- Develop and execute fiscal year Fundraising Plan, to include donor acquisition, prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to increase revenues in support of There With Care.
- Create annual giving programs to support all revenue streams: Major Gifts (Individual, Corporate Partnerships, and Foundation Giving); Mid-level; Monthly Donors
- Maintain cultivation, communications, solicitations, and follow up strategies for all events, outreach, and connections.
- Manage portfolio of 50 key donors, raising $750,000 annually for There With Care.
- Lead efforts and work closely with Leadership to meet, and exceed, organization’s annual fundraising goals.
- Collaborate with Leadership in any development and fundraising activities and donor follow up.
- Develop and manage timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner.
- Monitor development expenses and analyze budget reports on fundraising; recommend changes and adapt as necessary. Prepare regular reports on progress, budgets, receipts, and expenditure related to fundraising and the management of the fund development activities.
- Assist with additional projects as assigned.

The Important Skills You’ll Need To Have
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a professional role responsible for fundraising development and community engagement (preferably in the nonprofit sector).
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (such as nonprofit management, marketing, or other BA).
- Management experience, including talent acquisition and development, development tools, and building a diverse and inclusive high performing team.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns
- Experience with budgets and budget management
- Experience enhancing the reputation of an organization through conversations, presentations, publications, research, and media inquiries by serving as a spokesperson and thought leader.
- Experience working with senior leadership and board of directors.
- Must have computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
