Melanie Ladhabhoy

Board Director

Melanie is a Bay Area native. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law where she received distinctions for her Legal Writing and Research and devoted her free time to volunteering at the Family Law Self Help Center. She has been a member of The State Bar of California since 2006.

As a lawyer, Melanie demonstrated her commitment to underserved communities through her work at the Contra Costa County Public Defender and then at a firm where she represented veterans suffering from critical illness. She then moved on to a boutique civil litigation firm where she was responsible for all aspects of trial preparation.

Melanie, her husband, and their two children currently reside in Menlo Park. She is an engaged parent volunteer at her children’s school notably serving as the Parent Association Vice-President and leading fundraising efforts as the Annual Benefit Co-Chair. In the community, Melanie volunteers for Peninsula Bridge as both a Parent Advisory Committee member and as a mentor to a first-generation student.

Melanie and her family have volunteered at There with Care for the past six years, delivering holiday meals and fulfilling wish lists. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve an organization that provides compassion and support to families going through challenging times.
