Grant/Content Writer

There With Care is seeking an experienced Grant/Content Writer to join our team. The Grant/Content Writer is responsible for identifying new grants, writing narrative, filling out applications, completing grant reporting, engaging, and cultivating foundation partners. This person serves as the primary grant writer, manages funder relationships, and cultivates partnerships for corporations and foundations. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management skills. The Grant Writer will oversee the entire grant-making process from planning to execution.

Founded in Colorado in 2005, There With Care’s mission is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services for families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by hospital social workers and build support around them through a community of individuals, volunteers, services, and businesses, who ease their burden of life’s day-to-day obligations with compassion and care. Our current service locations are Colorado and the Bay Area of California.

The Important Work You’ll Do
    GRANTS (70%)
  • Lead grant proposal development and submission—preparing and organizing materials for proposals, and submitting and monitoring grant applications.
  • Research new funding and business development opportunities on a local, state, and national level.
  • Maintain and build relationships with funders and other strategic partners on a local, state, and national level.
  • Draft proposals/LOIs, grant application narratives, and budgets.
  • Create stewardship plans or impact reports for funders.
  • Submit grant applications via paper or online portals, and maintain list of passwords.
  • Meet with funders to explore funding opportunities and fulfill site visit requirements.
  • Maintain master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence.
  • Maintain library of grant support documents including budgets, contributors, bios, IRS forms, board/staff diversity lists, etc.
  • Execute thank you letters and facilitate grant contracts/agreements.
  • Ensure acknowledgment of funders/investors via website, e-newsletter, and social media.
  • Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets—taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Track progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals.
  • Create system in SharePoint to organize requests, attachments, and files.
CONTENT (30%)
  • Write engaging content to improve There With Care’s brand and visibility.
  • Publish content on digital platforms and print: newsletters, annual report, fundraising campaigns, stewardship letters and email, social media, and other projects.
  • Assist with additional projects as assigned.

The Important Skills You’ll Need To Have
  • Bachelor’s degree desired
  • A strong commitment to the mission of There With Care.
  • 3 years of non-profit grant-writing and creative writing experience.
  • Proven track record of successful grant applications and funding acquisitions
  • Exceptional time management and prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Excellent written communication skills (writing, editing, and proofreading skills)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
