Phone and IT
This program provides access to computers and telephones to increase the family’s ability to obtain medical services and resource libraries.
When a child is diagnosed with a critical illness, often one parent must leave their employment to care for the child. With many families facing a loss of half their income, there is quickly increased financial stress for families.
In these situations, it is not uncommon for one of the first bills that parents are unable to cover is for their cell phone service. There With Care works with families to ensure that this crucial service remains in place, so that their children and their children’s doctors can reach parents, at any hour of the day.
Critical illness can also create isolation from family and friends. By providing a working used computer to a parent and/or patient, There With Care is able to provide a connection for them to their community, as well as to their education for patients working remotely with their schools during treatments. There With Care works with companies to secure and set-up donated computers to ensure parents and patients remain in touch with the world outside of the hospital.
