Kate Dachs

Community Volunteer and There With Care Bay Area Board Member 2011-2019,

Kate is a native Californian and attended The Thacher School in Ojai, California. After high school she attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where she earned her B.A. in Art History. After returning to California, Kate received her M.A. in Education as well as her California Teaching Credential from The University of San Francisco. Kate worked in the Jefferson Elementary School District in Daly City for many years teaching 2nd grade.

Kate has been very involved with children’s health and currently serves as a board member of Ambassadors for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto. She has been a member of the Family Advisory Council and Sibling Committee at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco for the last 5 years. Currently, Kate is co-writing a book for pediatric patients and their siblings about hospitalization with a social work/child-life team at UCSF.

After experiencing a medical crisis with one of her own children, Kate became acutely aware of the compassion a family needs while struggling with a sick child. She believes wholeheartedly in the There With Care mission and is profoundly honored and excited to help families in the Bay Area.
